A Party? In an Alley???

You are invited to an alley party... yes, you heard me right. Swing by the alley behind the Nord (314 1st Ave S) during the First Thursday Art Walk in Pioneer Square on Thursday, July 2 from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.

There will be Marimba Music, and innovative one-day mosaic art installation by the Vashon Tile Guild, beverages, summer breezes, and lots of interesting people!

See a video of last fall's bash at www.livablewalkable.com.

Welcome to the Neighborhood...

Revolution Books
89 S Washington St

There's a new store in Pioneer Square - Revolution Books at 89 S Washington St. Per the website, they "aim to be a new revolutionary center of inquiry and ferment – a space where you will find people from a wide range of ages and backgrounds engaging in dialogue, discussing events of the day, watching cutting edge movies, looking at our current art exhibit, or listening to author and poetry readings..."

For the month of June, Revolution Books presents
Lying Is the Most Powerful Weapon In War: The photo essays of
Mike Hastie, U.S. Army Medic Vietnam.
Reception with the Artist this First Thursday, June 4th, from 7 - 9 PM.

"If someone were to ask me what I am trying to convey in my photo
essay about my experiences as a military medic in Vietnam, and
the numerous wars that America has been involved in since
Vietnam, it would be the overwhelming realization that lying is
at the core of everything."
